MaxxFan adapter for Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Volkswagen Crafter 2006 to 2018

3D printed adapter for MaxxAir fan

Adapers to perfectly fit your fans on the roof

Both Sprinter and Crafter vans have ribs on their roof that strengthen the sheet metal, but make it very hard to mount fans on it. We’ve made two 3D printed shims that can be placed between the fan rim and your roof:

Different adapter sizes

The centered version puts it perfectly in the middle of the roof, but that was blocked by solar panels in our install. That’s why we used an offset version which puts the van completely to the side of the middle ridge. The center ridge is marked as orange in this image for reference.

Printable in parts

The model should be divided into multiple parts, depending on the size of your print bed. It can be printed on the smallest of printers.

You’ll need to trim some of the inner brim of the roof ring, as it is higher than the ridges in the roof. Place the printed adapter on a flat surface and place the provided rim on top, it should be clear what you need to trim.

Make your fans smart

If this adapter helps you, please consider buying our other product: The VanTurtle fan controller allows you to completely automate up to two fans. Control them over WiFi or integrate with Home Assistant to enable functionality like automatic closing when driving or speeding up if temperatures get too high.
